Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 5.07% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) added 1.90% or 0.16 points to end at 8.60 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 1.73% or 0.03 points to 1.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 2.78% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.50 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 2.59% or 0.02 points to end at 0.71 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was down 2.46% or 0.05 points to 1.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 46 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.86% or 22.69 to $2,668.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.42% or 0.29 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.87% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 105.94.
