Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.72% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) added 2.60% or 0.21 points to end at 8.30 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was up 1.94% or 0.06 points to 2.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which fell 3.36% or 0.86 points to trade at 24.72 at the close. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) declined 3.26% or 0.70 points to end at 20.80 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) was down 2.93% or 0.24 points to 7.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 67 to 55 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.26% or 0.70 to 20.80.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.26% or 29.50 to $2,376.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.57% or 0.46 to hit $81.17 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.56 to trade at $85.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 105.12.
