Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Banking and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.26% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Meanwhile, Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) added 4.86% or 0.34 points to end at 7.34 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) was up 2.68% or 0.040 points to 1.540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 3.07% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.221 at the close. Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) declined 0.78% or 0.0100 points to end at 1.2800 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was down 2.70% or 0.380 points to 13.680.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 48 to 44 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.47% or 5.70 to $1217.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.80% or 1.23 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.97 to trade at $74.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1563, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.15.
