Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.70% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 3.08% or 0.12 points to end at 4.02 and Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) was up 2.06% or 0.02 points to 1.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which fell 3.23% or 0.50 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 2.29% or 0.27 points to end at 11.50 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 1.56% or 0.04 points to 2.52.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 80 to 39 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.25 to $2,489.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.01% or 0.79 to hit $77.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.59 to trade at $80.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 104.12.
