Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which rose 3.00% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 1.77% or 0.02 points to end at 1.15 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 1.74% or 0.07 points to 3.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which fell 2.58% or 0.56 points to trade at 21.14 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 2.48% or 0.14 points to end at 5.51 and Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr) was down 2.14% or 0.32 points to 14.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 43 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.05% or 26.35 to $2,543.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.67% or 1.22 to hit $74.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.16 to trade at $78.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 100.76.
