Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr), which rose 3.35% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 2.26% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.5440 and Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) was up 1.93% or 0.16 points to 8.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which fell 4.39% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.871 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 3.64% or 0.040 points to end at 1.070 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) was down 3.45% or 0.025 points to 0.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 41 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.39% or 0.040 to 0.871.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.89% or 11.65 to $1327.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.62% or 0.88 to hit $55.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.54 to trade at $62.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1460, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 95.172.
