Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Banking and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 5.53% or 0.104 points to trade at 1.984 at the close. Meanwhile, Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 2.64% or 0.040 points to end at 1.555 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was up 2.52% or 0.340 points to 13.840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 14.14% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.0850 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) declined 8.40% or 0.017 points to end at 0.183 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was down 4.41% or 0.060 points to 1.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.14% or 0.0140 to 0.0850. Shares in Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.40% or 0.017 to 0.183.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.23% or 2.90 to $1257.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.86% or 2.02 to hit $72.55 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.50 to trade at $77.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
