Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 9.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 29.17% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.093 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 29.17% or 0.021 points to end at 0.093 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 28.68% or 0.11 points to 0.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which fell 11.11% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.128 at the close. Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) declined 6.25% or 0.10 points to end at 1.50 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was down 2.44% or 0.15 points to 6.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 67 to 31 and 2 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.62% or 18.70 to $1134.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.37% or 1.29 to hit $39.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.54% or 1.08 to trade at $43.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.79% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 1.30% to 0.7270.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.33% at 94.63.
