Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 3.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 22.22% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) added 17.14% or 0.006 points to end at 0.041 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was up 13.41% or 0.011 points to 0.093 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 11.76% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.090 at the close. Elgeka (AT:ELGr) declined 10.00% or 0.025 points to end at 0.225 and Dromeas (AT:DROr) was down 6.30% or 0.008 points to 0.119.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 26 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Centric Hold (AT:DESr) fell to all time lows; down 11.76% or 0.012 to 0.090.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.92% or 10.40 to $1123.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.68% or 1.24 to hit $47.49 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 0.94 to trade at $51.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.18% to 1.1094, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7284.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 96.58.
