Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 3.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 29.13% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.148 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 29.03% or 0.009 points to end at 0.040 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was up 18.28% or 0.017 points to 0.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which fell 2.96% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.31 at the close. Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) declined 1.96% or 0.09 points to end at 4.51 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was down 1.80% or 0.0300 points to 1.6400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 25 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 6.50 to $1134.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.03% or 0.48 to hit $46.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 0.65 to trade at $48.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7146.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.90.
