Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Industrials and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.50% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.1960 at the close. Meanwhile, Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 7.29% or 0.042 points to end at 0.618 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) was up 4.42% or 0.180 points to 4.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 4.48% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.128 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.89% or 0.013 points to end at 0.440 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 2.10% or 0.030 points to 1.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.14% or 14.73 to $1278.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $45.66 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.22 to trade at $47.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1221, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8668.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.94.
