Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.10% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr), which rose 7.48% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.158 at the close. Meanwhile, Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.95% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1790 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 4.91% or 0.029 points to 0.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 6.67% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.097 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 3.68% or 0.007 points to end at 0.183 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) was down 2.33% or 0.46 points to 19.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.62% or 18.85 to $1184.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.09 to trade at $56.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.15% to 1.0609, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8537.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.14% at 101.32.
