Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 2.77%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 8.52% or 0.216 points to trade at 2.750 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 8.28% or 0.042 points to end at 0.549 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 7.78% or 0.0700 points to 0.9700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr), which fell 4.15% or 1.10 points to trade at 25.40 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) declined 2.94% or 0.110 points to end at 3.630 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was down 2.92% or 0.400 points to 13.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 87 to 24 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.44% or 5.70 to $1294.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.78% or 0.52 to hit $66.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.89 to trade at $76.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8752.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.07.
