Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 2.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 6.06% or 0.0400 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 6.05% or 0.126 points to end at 2.210 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) was up 4.97% or 0.51 points to 10.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which fell 2.55% or 0.035 points to trade at 1.335 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.17% or 0.009 points to end at 0.406 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was down 1.66% or 0.12 points to 7.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 25 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.17% or 0.009 to 0.406.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1202.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $67.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.48 to trade at $77.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1605, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 95.05.
