Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 27.32% or 0.053 points to trade at 0.247 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 18.49% or 0.440 points to end at 2.820 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 12.07% or 0.007 points to 0.065 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which fell 2.16% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.360 at the close. Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) declined 1.49% or 0.100 points to end at 6.600 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was down 1.44% or 0.020 points to 1.390.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 27 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.22 to $1288.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $57.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1789, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.02.
