Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 2.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 7.51% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.860 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 7.13% or 0.057 points to end at 0.857 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 5.99% or 0.16 points to 2.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which fell 1.46% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 1.40% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.2120 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) was down 0.42% or 0.004 points to 0.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 99 to 16 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.70 to $1354.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.91% or 0.55 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.88 to trade at $63.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.2479, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 88.71.
