Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 7.38% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.096 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 6.83% or 0.047 points to end at 0.735 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 6.41% or 0.100 points to 1.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 5.65% or 0.0056 points to trade at 0.0936 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) declined 3.24% or 0.110 points to end at 3.280 and K.L.M. (AT:KLUr) was down 2.94% or 0.020 points to 0.660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 79 to 27 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.00 to $1202.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.70% or 1.78 to hit $67.62 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.46% or 1.79 to trade at $74.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1600, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8984.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.99.
