Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.95%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 8.20% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 7.69% or 0.035 points to end at 0.490 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was up 5.93% or 0.430 points to 7.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 7.61% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.165 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) declined 6.45% or 0.800 points to end at 11.600 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was down 4.49% or 0.0022 points to 0.0490.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 65 to 41 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 6.30 to $1224.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.83% or 0.94 to hit $50.51 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 1.09 to trade at $58.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 97.137.
