Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 10.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Karatzi (AT:KRTr) added 9.38% or 0.600 points to end at 7.000 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 6.53% or 0.065 points to 1.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 2.79% or 0.1400 points to trade at 4.8800 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) declined 2.21% or 0.310 points to end at 13.690 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) was down 1.60% or 0.40 points to 24.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 86 to 20 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.18% or 2.25 to $1280.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.05% or 1.65 to hit $52.39 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.77% or 1.74 to trade at $61.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1363, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 95.968.
