Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 9.54% or 0.103 points to trade at 1.183 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 7.75% or 0.0440 points to end at 0.6120 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 6.61% or 0.039 points to 0.629 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which fell 2.50% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.975 at the close. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) declined 1.75% or 0.085 points to end at 4.765 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was down 1.60% or 0.4200 points to 25.9100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 58 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.50% or 0.025 to 0.975.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.10 to $1228.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.09% or 0.68 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.38 to trade at $71.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1471, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8726.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 95.73.
