Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 11.11% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 10.74% or 0.064 points to end at 0.660 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 8.65% or 0.180 points to 2.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 4.42% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.173 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.59% or 0.0800 points to end at 2.1500 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was down 3.27% or 0.44 points to 13.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 44 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 12.34 to $1282.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $57.88 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.21 to trade at $63.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1851, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.8822.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 93.17.
