Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 9.23% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.420 at the close. Meanwhile, National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 8.97% or 0.142 points to end at 1.725 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 8.57% or 0.0460 points to 0.5830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were K.L.M. (AT:KLUr), which fell 4.70% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.568 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 3.28% or 0.80 points to end at 23.60 and Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) was down 3.05% or 0.650 points to 20.650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in K.L.M. (AT:KLUr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.70% or 0.028 to 0.568.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.30 to $1207.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.27% or 0.97 to hit $75.44 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.01% or 0.87 to trade at $85.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1520, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 95.32.
