Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 8.70% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.275 at the close. Meanwhile, Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) added 8.01% or 0.470 points to end at 6.340 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 7.14% or 0.002 points to 0.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which fell 4.46% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 2.17% or 0.140 points to end at 6.400 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) was down 1.93% or 0.011 points to 0.558.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 34 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.22% or 2.70 to $1250.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.27% or 0.72 to hit $57.41 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.06 to trade at $63.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1756, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 93.97.
