Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr), which rose 8.15% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) added 6.33% or 0.05 points to end at 0.77 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) was up 4.37% or 0.08 points to 1.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which fell 2.69% or 0.60 points to trade at 21.70 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 1.27% or 0.05 points to end at 3.89 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was down 1.09% or 0.02 points to 1.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 98 to 25 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.49% or 13.11 to $2,663.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.63% or 0.43 to hit $68.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.44 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 105.84.
