Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Household and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 4.58% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 4.40% or 0.040 points to end at 0.950 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 3.99% or 0.230 points to 6.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which fell 20.61% or 0.114 points to trade at 0.439 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 16.43% or 0.0114 points to end at 0.0580 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 7.25% or 0.150 points to 1.920.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 20.61% or 0.114 to 0.439. Shares in Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 16.43% or 0.0114 to 0.0580.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1252.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.01% or 0.74 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.52 to trade at $79.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1668, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 94.35.
