Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 7.37% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 4.30% or 0.18 points to end at 4.24 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) was up 4.20% or 0.13 points to 3.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which fell 2.12% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 2.09% or 0.19 points to end at 8.89 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was down 1.13% or 0.02 points to 1.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 81 to 41 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.40% or 9.50 to $2,389.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.52% or 0.41 to hit $78.23 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.34 to trade at $82.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.07.
