Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 3.45% or 0.13 points to trade at 3.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) added 2.81% or 0.90 points to end at 32.90 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 2.65% or 0.15 points to 5.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alumil (AT:ALMr), which fell 2.26% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.03 at the close. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 2.05% or 0.05 points to end at 2.39 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was down 1.10% or 0.02 points to 1.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 58 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) rose to all time highs; rising 2.81% or 0.90 to 32.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 13.60 to $2,465.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.60% or 1.94 to hit $76.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.33% or 1.82 to trade at $79.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 103.94.
