Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 7.37% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 5.92% or 0.19 points to end at 3.40 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 5.40% or 0.18 points to 3.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which fell 2.42% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.42 at the close. Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) declined 1.60% or 0.05 points to end at 2.78 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) was down 1.37% or 0.40 points to 28.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 38 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 6.40 to $2,333.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.87% or 0.71 to hit $82.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.72 to trade at $85.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 105.56.
