Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 11.91% or 0.096 points to trade at 0.902 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 10.48% or 0.037 points to end at 0.390 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 7.14% or 0.0600 points to 0.9000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 3.17% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.610 at the close. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 2.33% or 0.46 points to end at 19.28 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was down 2.17% or 0.240 points to 10.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 41 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) rose to 3-years highs; up 11.91% or 0.096 to 0.902. Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.48% or 0.037 to 0.390.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.46% or 6.10 to $1341.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.60% or 0.39 to hit $64.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.34 to trade at $68.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.2437, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 88.82.
