Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Technology and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 11.45% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 7.50% or 0.076 points to end at 1.090 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 5.86% or 0.038 points to 0.687 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which fell 2.23% or 0.035 points to trade at 1.535 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 1.68% or 0.200 points to end at 11.800 and European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) was down 1.64% or 0.060 points to 3.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 36 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.61% or 7.90 to $1309.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.55 to trade at $76.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.23% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP fell 0.87% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.88% at 94.38.
