Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Resources and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Karatzi (AT:KRTr), which rose 7.14% or 0.500 points to trade at 7.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Loulis Mills (AT:LOUr) added 3.77% or 0.08 points to end at 2.20 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 3.41% or 0.070 points to 2.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr), which fell 2.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 1.98% or 0.50 points to end at 24.70 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was down 1.93% or 0.009 points to 0.431.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 81 to 35 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1226.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $67.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $72.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.84.
