Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Household and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 6.09% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.244 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) added 4.32% or 0.985 points to end at 23.785 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was up 2.97% or 0.415 points to 14.365 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 6.94% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.263 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 4.44% or 0.0600 points to end at 1.2900 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was down 4.33% or 0.038 points to 0.840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 27 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.09% or 0.014 to 0.244.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.04 to $1269.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $51.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1861, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8961.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 92.65.
