Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr), which rose 3.14% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr) added 2.99% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.3800 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.69% or 0.0225 points to 0.8585 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 7.05% or 0.0074 points to trade at 0.0976 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 4.17% or 0.035 points to end at 0.840 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 3.16% or 0.058 points to 1.780.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 67 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1222.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.99% or 1.37 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.76 to trade at $75.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 94.07.
