Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 12.37% or 0.0046 points to trade at 0.0418 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 5.26% or 0.025 points to end at 0.500 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 5.07% or 0.037 points to 0.777 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 1.60% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.159 at the close. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) declined 1.59% or 0.40 points to end at 24.80 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was down 1.50% or 0.32 points to 20.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 24 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.35% or 4.50 to $1285.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.57% or 0.76 to hit $49.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.26% or 0.72 to trade at $58.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1443, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 95.485.
