Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 4.21% or 0.48 points to trade at 11.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 4.10% or 0.21 points to end at 5.33 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 2.52% or 0.04 points to 1.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr), which fell 1.83% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 0.82% or 0.02 points to end at 2.41 and Premia AE (AT:PREMr) was down 0.67% or 0.01 points to 1.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 80 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr) fell to all time lows; falling 1.83% or 0.08 to 4.30.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 14.75 to $2,680.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.89% or 3.61 to hit $70.22 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.61% or 3.57 to trade at $73.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 102.90.
