Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 4.74% or 0.22 points to trade at 4.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 3.76% or 0.13 points to end at 3.45 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) was up 3.58% or 0.30 points to 8.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr), which fell 2.32% or 0.32 points to trade at 13.48 at the close. Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) declined 1.69% or 0.08 points to end at 4.65 and Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) was down 1.15% or 0.01 points to 1.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 92 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 2.70 to $2,366.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.20% or 0.17 to hit $83.71 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.13 to trade at $87.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 104.83.
