Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 4.69% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) added 4.26% or 0.06 points to end at 1.57 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 3.81% or 0.400 points to 11.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which fell 2.93% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.650 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 2.65% or 0.030 points to end at 1.090 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was down 2.04% or 0.090 points to 4.320.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ekter (AT:EKTr) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.69% or 0.060 to 1.340.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.49% or 6.35 to $1309.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.48% or 1.29 to hit $53.28 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.27 to trade at $61.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1421, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8692.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.498.
