Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which rose 5.83% or 1.34 points to trade at 24.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 5.73% or 0.28 points to end at 5.26 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) was up 3.90% or 0.42 points to 11.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr), which fell 1.01% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.96 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 0.94% or 0.02 points to end at 1.68 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr) was down 0.92% or 0.03 points to 3.24.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 43 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 15.30 to $2,541.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.97% or 1.36 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.27 to trade at $73.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 101.31.
