Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 2.46% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) added 2.30% or 0.60 points to end at 26.70 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) was up 2.15% or 0.18 points to 8.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which fell 2.35% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.49 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 1.90% or 0.03 points to end at 1.55 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was down 1.79% or 0.20 points to 11.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 61 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.90% or 0.03 to 1.55.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.32% or 7.70 to $2,383.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.66% or 0.49 to hit $74.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.50 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.24.
