Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 3.49% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.74% or 0.40 points to end at 15.00 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) was up 2.69% or 0.29 points to 11.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which fell 4.76% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.00 at the close. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) declined 4.10% or 0.05 points to end at 1.17 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was down 2.12% or 0.24 points to 11.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 56 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 8.25 to $2,542.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.45% or 0.33 to hit $73.50 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.41 to trade at $77.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.22.
