Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.46% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 3.79% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 2.91% or 0.12 points to end at 4.07 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 2.02% or 0.05 points to 2.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which fell 3.47% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.22 at the close. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 1.64% or 0.16 points to end at 9.61 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was down 1.57% or 0.02 points to 1.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 57 to 55 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.29% or 56.30 to $2,400.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.82% or 0.67 to hit $80.63 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.55 to trade at $84.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.02.
