Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Alumil (AT:ALMr), which rose 2.91% or 0.12 points to trade at 4.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) added 2.18% or 0.72 points to end at 33.80 and Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr) was up 1.75% or 0.10 points to 5.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which fell 2.26% or 0.50 points to trade at 21.60 at the close. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 1.79% or 0.05 points to end at 2.75 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) was down 1.54% or 0.13 points to 8.29.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alumil (AT:ALMr) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.91% or 0.12 to 4.25.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.01% or 55.50 to $2,701.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.32% or 0.93 to hit $69.36 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.83 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 106.63.
