Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.44% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr), which rose 2.48% or 0.12 points to trade at 4.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 2.44% or 0.04 points to end at 1.68 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was up 2.02% or 0.64 points to 32.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which fell 3.92% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 2.95% or 0.03 points to end at 0.92 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was down 1.67% or 0.20 points to 11.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 8.25 to $2,413.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.63% or 0.52 to hit $83.14 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.33 to trade at $85.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 103.75.
