Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 8.65% or 0.34 points to trade at 4.27 at the close. Meanwhile, National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 2.97% or 0.24 points to end at 8.26 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 2.27% or 0.26 points to 11.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which fell 3.82% or 0.60 points to trade at 15.10 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 2.31% or 0.06 points to end at 2.54 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr) was down 1.90% or 0.06 points to 3.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 52 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.53% or 60.50 to $2,330.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.34% or 0.26 to hit $75.81 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $79.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 104.83.
