Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 6.87% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Alumil (AT:ALMr) added 6.47% or 0.28 points to end at 4.53 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) was up 3.51% or 0.07 points to 1.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which fell 2.10% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.00 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) unchanged 1.17% or 0.00 points to end at 0.34 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was down 1.00% or 0.34 points to 33.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 40 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alumil (AT:ALMr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 6.47% or 0.28 to 4.53.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.09% or 29.41 to $2,679.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.16% or 0.81 to hit $70.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.67 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.76.
