Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Retail and Household sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.32% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.258 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) added 6.50% or 1.6550 points to end at 27.1350 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 5.92% or 0.085 points to 1.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which fell 6.88% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.149 at the close. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 5.98% or 0.110 points to end at 1.730 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was down 5.81% or 0.054 points to 0.876.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 67 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.51% or 20.10 to $1350.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $59.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.13 to trade at $62.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.2398, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8889.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 89.23.
