Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.30% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 5.64% or 0.22 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 5.31% or 0.16 points to end at 3.17 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 3.76% or 0.01 points to 0.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which fell 2.77% or 0.45 points to trade at 15.80 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 2.20% or 0.05 points to end at 2.22 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was down 2.16% or 0.04 points to 1.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 46 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.59% or 15.81 to $2,688.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.00% or 0.73 to hit $74.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.75 to trade at $76.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 109.02.
