Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr), which rose 4.09% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.560 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 2.44% or 0.020 points to end at 0.860 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 2.19% or 0.12 points to 5.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which fell 2.56% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.099 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 2.24% or 0.050 points to end at 2.180 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) was down 1.57% or 0.020 points to 1.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 58 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.10 to $1219.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $69.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.72 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1595, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 94.95.
