Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which rose 2.68% or 0.40 points to trade at 15.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) added 2.65% or 0.03 points to end at 1.16 and Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) was up 2.41% or 0.07 points to 2.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which fell 2.14% or 0.65 points to trade at 29.75 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 1.70% or 0.01 points to end at 0.75 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was down 1.50% or 0.50 points to 32.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 46 and 28 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.33% or 8.70 to $2,653.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.78 to trade at $73.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.86.
