Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 8.58% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Ekter (AT:EKTr) added 3.06% or 0.14 points to end at 4.55 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) was up 2.61% or 0.05 points to 1.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr), which fell 4.57% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.88 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 4.28% or 0.02 points to end at 0.38 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) was down 2.93% or 0.11 points to 3.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 60 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.28% or 0.02 to 0.38.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.69% or 16.10 to $2,342.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.54% or 0.42 to hit $78.32 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.48 to trade at $82.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.26% at 103.87.
